How do we close the gap in housing affordability and build new housing opportunities to move families out of poverty, create stronger neighborhoods and build a better community? Isn’t this the conversation we have year after year in regard to the lack of affordable housing and housing choices?
I am sending you this special invitation to meet with your peers across the industry to create a Plan of Action for Equitable Development which will focus on four areas related to the Cost of Home:

This Town Hall style forum will address these questions in a cohesive, action-oriented plan that you create and can share with decision makers and practitioners to increase housing options across the community. Show up with your most radical solutions and together, let’s define and design equitable development.
- What is stopping us from producing a mix of housing that truly responds to community need?
- What is our collective goal for producing a mix of housing types?
- What are the specific actions that we can take to meet this goal and make significant progress toward improving the Supply and Preservation of Affordable Housing; Land Use; Access to Credit; and Communities of Opportunity?
- What are all of the community benefits that can be realized from improved housing conditions? (Social, Economic, and Environmental)
Let’s make the Cost of Home within reach for not just a select few, but our whole community.
