Congratulations to David Mabior and Achol Kur and their beautiful children who became Habitat for Humanity Tucson homeowners!
The couple are receiving the keys to their safe and affordable home just in time to welcome a new baby girl to their family. They’ve completed the requirements of Habitat Tucson’s home ownership program, which include attending financial classes, saving for a down payment, completing ‘sweat equity’ hours. Now, they will purchase their home with an affordable mortgage.
These accomplishments come after a long journey for the family.
David arrived in the US in 2001 after fleeing civil war in South Sudan. Over the years, he traveled back and forth between the US and his home country. On one trip, he met his wife and the next few years were spent working to bring his family together.
Finally, the family arrived in Tucson and began pursuing home ownership.
Welcome home David Mabior and family!
Now that David is in his home, he plans on finishing a formal education.
Support families like David’s by investing in affordable homeownership in Tucson. What will you build?
