Executive Committee
  • Ellen Wheeler, President, Chair of Executive Committee
    Executive Director, Morris K. Udall Foundation

    A native Tucsonan and a graduate of the UA School of Law, Ellen is the Executive Director of the Udall Foundation, an agency within the executive branch of the U.S. government. Ellen practiced law in Tucson for 15 years before joining the Udall Foundation. After a one-year hiatus, Ellen is returning to the board of directors of Habitat Tucson, having previously served on the board for 9 years.

  • Steve Cooke, President Elect, Chair of Board Development Committee
    First Vice President, MorganStanley SmithBarney LLC

    Steve recently moved from Georgia to Tucson to manage the local MorganStanley SmithBarney branch and has quickly become active in the community as a board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson and a Habitat Tucson construction volunteer.  His ties to Habitat extend to the Deep South, where he was Board President for the Valdosta/Lowndes Habitat for Humanity in Georgia.

  • Angela Baurley, Past President & VP
    CEO/President, Affinity Financial Group

    Angela has been an active member of Habitat’s Finance and Audit Committees for five years and was recently named Board president. Prior to opening Affinity Financial Group, she was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. She is a graduate of Indiana University and earned her MBA from the University of Arizona.  Angela has been active with Habitat for the last 6 years as a past member of Habitat’s Finance & Audit committees.

  • Jeff Singleton, Treasurer, Chair of Finance Committee
    CFO, Doucette Communities

    Business partner of CEO Tom Doucette, Jeff runs the financial operations of one of Tucson’s premier, award-winning, homebuilding companies. Jeff has served on Habitat Tucson’s finance committee for the past six years.  During this time he has also served on various volunteer leadership positions on the Board of Directors pf the New Beginnings for Women and Children (formerly Tucson Shalom House).

  • Gordon Yarrington, Secretary
    Realtor, Long Realty

    Gordon is no stranger to Habitat Tucson, having previously served on the Board and the Executive Committee, and currently serving as co-chair of the Tucson Association of Realtor Fundraising Committee for Habitat.  An agent with Long Realty, Gordon has shared his real estate expertise with Habitat on a number of occasions, including land acquisition.

  • The Rev. John Kitagawa, VP
    Rector, St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church

    John arrived in Tucson in 2001 to take the helm at St. Philip’s Parish.  He and his wife Kathy volunteered at Sandtown Habitat for Humanity in Baltimore, MD for six years and, once relocated, continued their association with the Tucson affiliate.  John joined the Habitat Tucson board in 2005.  Born in Minnesota, John holds a Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary.  He was ordained in 1978, and recently obtained his Doctor of Ministry degree from Seabury Western Seminary.
