About Us
Habitat for Humanity Tucson offers an innovative solution to the crisis of poverty housing by giving a hand up, not a hand out.
We accomplish our mission by building homes in partnership with the community and with low-income families. We value inclusiveness and win/win partnerships, respect for the dignity of each person, and a commitment to deliver a strong return on the community’s investment in our work.
Habitat Tucson was founded in 1980 by George Tolman, Jerry McFarland, and Mary Kelley and was the first affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International west of the Mississippi.
Each year Habitat Tucson designates its tithe to our sister affiliates in Mexico. Click here to read a report from the Tlapa affiliate about our latest investment. Click here to learn more about our global impact.

Mission
