Thrivent Build
Habitat for Humanity Tucson recently completed its third Thrivent Build home in December 2009 for the Khan family. We are excited to have been approved for the funds for a fourth which we began on March 20, 2010 and will be dedicated in December 2010 for the Abdi/Abdullahi family!
Levi Khan’s Story
The ongoing Thrivent Builds project allows Habitat and Thrivent to more closely engage with our community’s many Lutheran congregations, as they put their faith into action and become a visible symbol to our community of compassion and care.
Join us as we work on the Thrivent Build home. Gather a group of family or friends, or organize a group from your church to spend a day learning about construction– and making a difference! Or, come out on your own and meet other dedicated volunteers!

About Thrivent
What is Thrivent Financial for Lutherans?
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, with main offices in Minneapolis and Appleton, Wis., is a not-for-profit Fortune 500 financial services organization helping nearly 3 million members achieve their financial goals and give back to their communities. Founded to help Lutherans care for and support one another in time of need, Thrivent Financial is a faith-based membership organization guided by Christian principles, and is called upon to improve the quality of life of its members, their families and their communities by providing solutions that focus on financial security, wellness and caring for others. For more information visit www.thrivent.com.
Why did Thrivent Financial and Habitat form this alliance?
Participating in this alliance makes sense for both organizations. As a faith-based membership organization, Thrivent Financial’s mission is to care for others. Similarly, Habitat seeks to work with organizations that share its values and want to help eliminate poverty housing. A home is the biggest financial asset most families own and a key ingredient to achieving economic independence. Providing safe, decent, affordable housing is a demonstration of the organizations’ values.
