Marana Build
On April 11, 2009, the walls of the first Marana home were raised with much fanfare and excitement. This first project initiated as part of Marana Builds Habitat, a partnership between the Town of Marana and Habitat for Humanity Tucson, to build safe, decent, affordable homes for families living and/or working in Marana. The home was dedicated on November 20, 2009 where the Mayor of Marana was on hand to hand over the keys to the Ransom family.
A second home will be started in February 2010 and is sponsored by the Catholic Daughters of America.
Town of Marana
Marana is a relatively new municipality, incorporated in 1977 to control our most valuable resource – water. Although the Town is young, Marana has a rich history, and heritage preservation is one of our priorities.
