Corazon Del Pueblo
Habitat for Humanity Tucson has partnered with local builders, engineers and bankers to create the largest non-profit/for-profit joint-venture for affordable housing in the country. The development is called Corazon Del Pueblo, which means “heart of the people” or “heart of the town”.
Corazon Del Pueblo is located on approximately 70 acres, one mile east of the Interstate 10 Craycroft Road interchange, adjacent to an area called Littletown.
The development will eventually feature 393 two- to four- bedroom homes ranging from 1,100 to 1,600 square feet. Habitat Tucson will build approximately 60 homes, intermingled throughout the development side-by-side with homes built by partner builders: AmericaBuilt Communities, Doucette Communities, Ducati Homes and TJ Bednar Homes.
This development concept, thought of by Tucson builder Ted Bednar, is sustainable and can be replicated again and again, offering more and more opportunities to eliminate poverty housing in Tucson.
