Habitat for Humanity Tucson completed its seventh Thrivent Build home in December 2013 for the Marcum family. We are excited to have been approved for the funds for an eighth home which began on April 20, 2014 and will be dedicated in October 2014 for the Ramos family!
This unique alliance between Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial, called Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity, has resulted in over 2,700 homes for families. Habitat for Humanity Tucson has built seven homes, so far, as part of that effort.Thrivent Financial is providing a grant for construction materials and other costs of building the home. Additionally, Thrivent Financial will help coordinate hundreds of volunteers to help build the home throughout the year until it’s completion in October, 2014.
The ongoing Thrivent Builds project allows Habitat and Thrivent to more closely engage with our community’s many Lutheran congregations, as they put their faith into action and become a visible symbol to our community of compassion and care.
Join us as we work on the Thrivent Build home. Gather a group of family or friends, or organize a group from your church to spend a day learning about construction– and making a difference! Or, come out on your own and meet other dedicated volunteers! Contact the volunteer coordinator today to learn how to volunteer on the Thrivent home at email@example.com.

Why did Thrivent Financial and Habitat form this alliance?
Participating in this alliance makes sense for both organizations. As a faith-based membership organization, Thrivent Financial’s mission is to care for others. Similarly, Habitat seeks to work with organizations that share its values and want to help eliminate poverty housing. A home is the biggest financial asset most families own and a key ingredient to achieving economic independence. Providing safe, decent, affordable housing is a demonstration of the organizations’ values.
Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a multi-year, multi-million dollar partnership between Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity International. Thrivent Builds is designed to involve Thrivent members and Lutherans in helping provide a “hand up” to people in need of affordable housing, offering them a path to greater economic independence. Excluding government funding, Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is Habitat’s largest single source of funding, constructing and repairing more than 3,500 homes in the U.S. and around the world since 2005.
