Habitat for Humanity Tucson offers an innovative solution to the crisis of poverty housing by giving a hand up, not a hand out.
We accomplish our mission by building homes in partnership with the community and with low-income families. We value inclusiveness and win/win partnerships, respect for the dignity of each person, and a commitment to deliver a strong return on the community’s investment in our work.
There are many benefits of homeownership for our entire community. We created this public service announcement in partnership with the Tucson Association of REALTORS® – check it out to learn how homeownership matters to our families, neighborhoods and community!
Habitat Tucson was founded in 1980 by George Tolman, Jerry McFarland, and Mary Kelley and was the first affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International west of the Mississippi. Each year we designate our tithe to our sister affiliates in Mexico. Learn more about our global impact here.
In October 2012, we were awarded HUD’s Most Valuable Partner Award for “supporting HUD’s initiative of Strengthening the Nation’s Housing Market to Bolster the Economy and Protect Consumers,” read more here.
